France, 1930s: In a small village not far from the Italian border, leather artisan Paul Sartore and his wife Marcelle opened a small workshop specializing in women's footwear. The first models were moccasins, which met with immediate success and soon required large-scale production. Over time, the range expanded to include elegant clogs and, a few decades later, Western-inspired footwear, from cowboy boots to ankle boots, that have since become style icons and the distinctive signature of the Sartore brand, designed to be worn in every season.
