If there's one accessory that can't be missing from your Fall Winter 2023 wardrobe, it's loafers. For a long time, they were considered retro footwear and collegial, but thanks to the refined styling efforts of today's celebrities and the reinterpretation by some prestigious fashion houses, they are back in the spotlight. However, not all models are capturing the hearts of fashionistas: while thick soles, both chunky and track versions, are disappearing from Instagram feeds, the tapered silhouette is gaining considerable popularity, even among the younger crowd.
The fact is that classic loafers have been reevaluated: elegant, chic, and understated. These models are mostly crafted in black leather, while variations in brown, blue, or burgundy tend to attract those who already own the classic black pair. Lighter variants, such as suede or off-white leather, are less common but will make a comeback next spring as a viable alternative to sneakers. The use of bicolor is also interesting, especially black and white, which subtly references the fashion of the 1930s.
The idea is to invest in a luxurious pair of women's loafers because, as we've already mentioned, we'll be seeing them in the upcoming seasons as well. The beauty of high-quality, semi-glossy leather, even if it's not patent, combines with the sophistication of details: a not overly rigid sole and visible stitching. This allows the shoes to be worn during the day with 5-pocket jeans and in the evening with mini dresses, making them a valid alternative to pumps (but much more comfortable and currently fashionable!).

Think of the iconic Gucci loafers, made of incredibly soft leather with a metal horsebit as a decorative element, Miu Miu's penny loafers, playfully featuring a small coin, and Bottega Veneta's Monsieur loafers with a glossy finish.
