Towards the end of the of 1500s, the shirt began to assume the shape that we recognize today. In fact, it was during that period that sleeves were introduced. However, throughout its history, the shirt as taken on particular features, becoming a real status symbol. Over the years, the collar was also added (classic or Korean), a long line of buttons (originally there were only two at the top of the collar) and the cuffs.
