Niccolò Giannini is the bag designer who won the title 'Who Is On Next?' in 2017 in the accessories category. An important international recognition for the Florentine label Nico Giani.

His pieces are a tribute to feminine minimalism: the strength of geometry, the balance of proportions and the wise use of color. A simple and powerful image that redefines the idea of femininity, nostalgic but dynamic, poised between past and future.

What is your training and how has it affected your path as a designer?

I graduated, first in pattern making at the Polimoda in Florence, then in stylisme de mode at the Studio Berçot in Paris, in parallel I obtained a master's degree in fashion design at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. This path has allowed me to mature over time a clear and harmonious vision of every single piece, so as to be aware of every aspect: from aesthetic to technical design.

IRONY - RIGOR - DYNAMISM

Your collections are an explosion of colors and geometries. How come this stylistic figure?

My bags tell of the meeting between the elegance of proportion and the strength of the visual impact of color. For this reason, the search for a dynamic relationship between form and color is essential to me.

Who is your style icon?

Tilda Swinton: hieratic, a living sculpture that needs no makeup to express her power.

What bag model represents Fall Winter 2020 fashion?

Essentiality, purity, authenticity are the main traits defining the Nico Giani Fall/Winter 2020 collection. I've revamped my signature Adenia bucket bag, which is presented in a new cloud-like soft version enriched with special details, including intentionally made creases on the handle.
