A stylist, an outstanding figure of the punk rock movement and an activist involved in environmental protection: Vivienne Westwood was all this. The British artist started her fervent activity in 1971, when she opened a fashion shop in London with Malcolm McLaren, the Sex Pistols manager. In the 80s they went their separate ways, and she founded the eponymous women’s clothing and jewelry brand. Over the years, Vivienne Westwood’s creations changed, but not the out-of-the-box style: she brought punk influences on catwalks too, by wearing models like Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss. Today, her husband Andreas Kronthaler is the creative director of the brand.
