MFW together with Niki Wu Jie | A new lifestyle stands out at the SS23 fashion shows

“Milan Fashion Week has brought real worlds on the runways by communicating messages through new and wonderful creations”.

Niki Wu Jie, style icon born in Zhengzhou and moved to Milan, interprets the women’s fashion of Spring Summer 2023.

With the end of this Milan Fashion Week, we witnessed the great return of amazing fashion shows, highlighting even more the changes of this evolving reality: the brands are no longer limited to creating collections but 'draw' of real worlds able to influence people’s lifestyle. Designers try to work in a more sustainable way, they are increasingly involved in social projects, attentive to certain issues. And just as we 'customers' have changed, we decide to follow them if we actually share the same values and not just because they have a 'beautiful' item.

The Spring Summer 2023 collections wink at the 90s both as shapes and as colors. Soft and over silhouettes, draping and fluidity in clothes. Everything is fun, romantic, but also very seductive and mischievous: exactly what we need after these last years. Even the colors used are an ode to joy: black only for the most sexy clothes, color for everything else, is the real protagonist of the season. Fuchsia will be next summer’s trend. Prints and lots of denim for all brands but also colorful silk chiffon.

On the catwalk they showed perfect clothes for everyday life but made precious thanks to Made In Italy craftsmanship and techniques - a fashion show for all - Bottega Veneta. Almost all the collections have been a tribute to the woman’s body, enhancing it through crop and volumes: long and soft dresses, such as by Jil Sander, Philosophy and Armani, that slide on the silhouette or minimal lengths and choose to highlight it without ever being vulgar, like Versace and Dolce&Gabbana where the latter, thanks to the collaboration with Kim Kardashian, presented one of the most beautiful collections ever, reviving in a contemporary way some historical pieces of the legendary duo.

Prada was the only one to go against the trend: no color and no precious or frivolous details. Prada’s always perfect, used almost raw fabrics, her women on the catwalk seemed the Vamp of a film Noir.

The cool hunter Niki, queen of impeccable matching for its uniqueness in revolutionizing and revisiting a classic and clean style with impact accessories, concludes:

'Feeling again the disruptive energy typical of the fashion week, that frantic excitement that characterizes the week, made me happily tired again. Meeting colleagues and friends I haven’t seen in a while has been so exciting. This joyful fashion week has been special. For some like Trussardi, Hugo Boss, Bally and Ferragamo this has been the season of new beginnings but also that of young and enthusiastic confirmations if we think of Andrea Adamo and Alessandro Vigliante'.
