Women’s fashion: the 10 fall winter trends of 2019/20

Women’s fashion: the 10 fall winter trends of 2019/20

Waiting to change round your wardrobe, here is the women's trend guide for the fall/winter 2019-20 season

What are the fashion trends for fall/winter 2019/20? One thing is certain, Miuccia Prada's runway show, with the iconic Frankenstein inspired prints and the sheath dresses combined with amphibians, marked out (with a decisive black line) the garments and accessories for the next winter season. 'Goth' and 'contrast' are surely key words. Added to this is the contrast of the '70s wave that overwhelms the various fashion houses, with a subtle nostalgia for the atmosphere of Studio 54. Now we’ve seen and heard about these two major themes, we can concentrate on the fashion items that will be in vogue: take note before you switch to your winter wardrobe or before your next shopping session.

Seventies super chic

A touch of vintage never hurts: colorful stoles, psychedelic patterns, midi skirts and suede boots. Super lightweight silk contrasting with velvet, warm and enveloping, giving charm to men’s suits or blazers. You can’t miss the hippy references, with fringing, shearling and Disco platforms.

The dark side of romanticism

Not just lace and crochet, romanticism can have darker folds. Already described by Mary Shelly in her horror novels, here that shadow takes form in total back linear dresses, military jackets, prints with pierced hearts and robust amphibians.

Black Trench

A homage to the Matrix, the iconic garment flaunted by Keanu Reeves eponymous film in 1999. Fashion, like cinema, wants the trench long and black, semi-lustrous and luxurious.

Check

Winter is the best period to show off your tartan garments. From the linings to the total look, choose the traditional check with a touch of red.

Bows

At the neck or on the waist, this fancy detail has been popping up here and there to define lady-like looks. Try it for the daytime in the form of a pussy-bow blouse.

Extra long trousers

A hem long enough to cover feet and shoes. This trend allows you to play with heights and to opt for a comfortable shoe (maybe a chunky heel). Try it for the office or an evening look.

Leather dresses

Covering like a second skin and creating unexpected cuts that model the silhouette: tight to be sensual, softer for a more contemporary version of a classic model. Think of a '50s style dress and then imagine it in semi-shiny leather. The 'wow' effect is a given.

Suits (trouser and in denim)

Sporty and practical femininity: designers are looking at unstructured cuts to make the suit more and more comfortable. A green light for soft trousers and blazers and suits in denim.

Ruffled Skirts

Flutter here and there with every step. Choose a skirt that is long and rich with frills to capture attention. If you want to be on trend, match yours with a maxi country belt and a pair of boots.

Orange

It is the color most loved by Millennials, so much that the shade Living Coral dominates the 2019 scene. Choose the brightest hues and wear them without hesitation. You will not regret it.
