The power of colored accessories: how to transform a basic look - by Ludovica Ragazzo
Comfy, simple and without ever renouncing to refinement. Here are our 6 style suggestions for a perfect casual chic outfit
By reviewing all the 2021 collections, it is impossible not to notice how color erupts, once again playing protagonist and energizing a year in need of positivity.
We see a common need for simplicity in everyday life, as well as in our outfits (it’s no coincidence that we’ve loved overalls for more than a year). That's why I want to offer you a 'great combo,' a way to always be fashionable while maintaining that have-to-have comfort and practicality. There’s no need to opt only for casual wear, there are in fact many ways to dress well while remaining comfortable. For example, a high-quality t-shirt is enough. Having a pear shape I prefer ones with shoulder pads, such as the one from The Attico in look number two, which balances proportions and enhances the waistline. When paired with great-fitting wide-leg trousers, it creates a look that works well.
Very often I talk about wardrobe essentials, that is those must-have items (few but of quality) that are the building blocks of any look. When they’re in neutral shades that best enhance us (for example, I prefer the warm shades of white, beige and brown), they become indispensable allies that allow us to compose all kinds of looks and experiment with tempting trends while keeping our identity. The outfit game I like most is creating a minimal look that makes me feel confident, then give it a twist with more eccentric nuances and pieces. A little tip: we all have a palette that not only represents us, but makes us feel our best, so keep to your colors.
But I digress, today I want to show you some simple looks to recreate with my favorite items from TheDoubleF.
Contrast accesories
How do you elevate the simplest of looks? Obviously by combining a colorful accessory that breaks up the monochromatic effect while playing it down.
Green has perhaps always been one of my favorite colors. For this look, I wanted to add two accessories, the iconic Loewe Puzzle bag in avocado green and The Attico glasses in military green. This is an example of how colored accessories can enrich a basic look like a structured t-shirt with shoulder pads by The Attico and creamy white wide-leg Bermuda shorts by Bottega Veneta. To harmonize everything, instead of combining shoes and bags in a classic way, which by the way is no longer expected in the etiquette, I opted for padded camel-colored mules by Gia Couture, a brand that is certainly very interesting to keep an eye on.
Since I discovered the power of accessories, I can't do without them anymore! I hope this reading inspired you and I invite you to play with colors to create the most 'wrong' and perfectly deconstructed looks.
