London label A-COLD-WALL*, founded by Samuel Ross in 2015, a LVMH Prize finalist, explores the nuances and disparities of the British class system. Ross, who previously worked alongside Virgil Abloh,
turns traditional silhouettes into street-chic ready-to-wear garments. A-COLD-WALL* color palette takes inspiration from the Brutalist Movement and Bauhaus Collective, while inanimate buildings,
industrial materials and geographic memory are turned into wearable clothes. Utilitarian materials come to the forefront, with PVC, latex, tarpaulin and many more sourced from Europe and produced in Italy.
The focus on sustainable growth means the menswear collection, comprised of trousers, jackets, t-shirts and trenchcoats, is developed from raw material studies, as well as technical fabrics, and ideas are
realized through an array of techniques, such as hand-painted detailing, concise print applications and experimentation.
