Charlène Sery at Copenhagen Fashion Week: where innovation meets personal style

Charlène Sery at Copenhagen Fashion Week: where innovation meets personal style

Charlène Sery, (@ivorybizz) a leading influencer in the fashion world, shares her insights and experiences at Copenhagen Fashion Week - that's both thrilling and inspiring.

Known for her unique style, Charlène discusses how she prepares for this iconic event, balancing the excitement of experimenting with new trends and staying true to her authentic self.
In this exclusive interview, she reveals the key pieces that caught her eye, the must-have trends for the Spring Summer 2025 and she gives us a hint about the Fall Winter 2024 highlights and what makes Copenhagen stand out among the global fashion capitals.

1.    How do you prepare for such an important event like Copenhagen Fashion Week?

Preparing for an event as Copenhagen Fashion Week is both thrilling and inspiring for me. I love fashion because it offers endless opportunities for self-expression, so I approach it with a spirit of experimentation. I enjoy stepping slightly outside my comfort zone, trying new styles, and playing with unexpected combinations. However, it’s equally important for me to stay grounded in who I am. So, while I explore, I make sure that my choices still reflect my authentic self. It’s about finding that balance between playing and staying true to my own identity.

2.    What was the piece or outfit you saw that made you think “I absolutely need to try this look”?

When I saw the Alaïa pants, my immediate reaction was, 'I absolutely need to try these.' They were literally screaming my name. The design, the fit - everything about them felt like they were made for me. I couldn't resist the urge to make them part of my style.

3.    Are there any accessories or details you’ve noticed that you think will become must-haves for the Spring Summer 2025 season?

For the SS 2025 season, I’ve noticed a few standout trends that I think will become must-haves. Sheer details are making a big statement, from skirts to dresses, and even daringly in boots. Bubble skirts are also coming back or better, they are already back in a major way, adding a playful twist to classic silhouettes. Tailoring remains strong, with sharp lines and refined cuts. And when it comes to accessories, oversized bags with playful proportions are set to be a key trend.

4.    What colors and fabrics are emerging as the trendiest for the winter season?

For the winter season, we're seeing lots of rich colors like grounded brown, burgundy, and midnight blue. When it comes to fabrics, it’s all about staying cozy with warm wools and sleek leathers.

5.    Which designers or brands did you find particularly innovative or interesting? Is there anyone you would recommend keeping an eye on?

About this fashion week I found interesting (di)vision - They continue to push boundaries in a way that feels fresh and sustainable. Another brand to watch is Won Hundred- known for its strong denim roots, the collection featured a range of pieces that emphasized adaptability and practicality while staying true to the brand’s minimalist.
And MUNTHE with a relaxed, sophisticated vibes.
These brands, in my opinion are definitely worth keeping an eye on for their innovative approach to fashion.

6.    Have you noticed any specific trends for Winter 2024 2025 that you think will dominate next year?

For Winter 2024 2025, I've noticed several trends that are likely to dominate next year. Oversized accessories, especially bags, are making a big impact. Tailoring is also key, with sharp, structured pieces continuing to be a strong trend. Sheer fabrics are still popular, adding a touch of elegance and intrigue to outfits. And of course, there’s a lot of denim - denim on denim, in various washes and styles, is something to watch. Let’s see how these trends evolve!

7.    In what ways does Copenhagen Fashion Week differ from others, such as those in Paris, Milan, or New York, in terms of aesthetics and approach to fashion?

I really appreciate Copenhagen Fashion Week because it feels much more inclusive compared to Paris, Milan, or New York. There’s a strong sense of personality in the street style over here, where fashion is used as a true form of expression, which I love. The approach of the brands is also distinct, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and a playful experimentation. It’s a refreshing contrast to the more traditional and sometimes exclusive vibes of other fashion weeks. Copenhagen brings something unique.
