Halloween Outfit: Punk Style for Women and Men | TheDoubleF
A punk that isn’t too heavy, featuring black leather, pins, and cuts but also lace and tulle.
Find out how to create a Halloween outfit by drawing inspiration from the FW24 street fashion trends.
A mix of stylistic elements from different 'worlds' that come together here to shape a new image, that of sweet punk. Black leather definitely plays a central role in the men's look: straps, biker jackets, and even chunky-soled boots are de-contextualized to become part of contemporary everyday language.
All these details serve to create strong contrasts with the more classic elements of women's fashion: voluminous tulle skirts, visible lingerie corsets, tailored capes, and flirty miniskirts.
This fashion doesn’t see or mark boundaries, just like punk itself, by definition: an assertive style where romance is 'sturm und drang' and is expressed in a radical and extreme way.
Punk style for women: Halloween outfit
From Balenciaga to Valentino, we see black boots with raised details, miniskirts paired with sky-high stilettos reinforced with studs, sheer fabrics, and wide-knit mesh tops worn under beautiful capes. Since always, anxieties and demons have been themes in the collections of Alexander McQueen, first with the tragically passed designer, then with Sarah Burton, his 'right-hand' for more than 10 years as the Creative Director of the Maison, and now with Seán McGirr.
The creations, dramatically romantic, combine tailoring with haunting prints (inspired by nocturnal animals or the plant world), voluminous petticoats, and hand-crafted corsets.
Lastly, black leather brogues (obviously!) with thick soles embody Frankenstein’s gothic image: a signature accessory to flaunt at Halloween and throughout the winter.
