Destination Bangkok. There they call it Krung Thep, the “city of angels”, but this cradle of civilization in Thailand is the favorite destination for backpackers and all those who are passionate about history from the Kingdom of Siam. This makes us think of the key word of practicality: a trip that is worth planning, in order to immerse yourself in local culture and relax under the hot sun.
Rattanakosin, the old city, is a treasure chest: here you can find the Grand Palace, with golden temples. The figure of the Buddha is re-proposed in every form and color, but the most precious is inside the Wat Phra Kaeo. Spirituality leaves room for the vitality of Siam Square, with the sky train that whizzes everywhere and lets you comfortably explore the crowded, colorful and noisy streets.
The journey will be marked by long walks and unforgettable moments of relaxation on the mother-of-pearl beaches typical of the coast of Thailand. Essentials for the suitcase are made up of soft trousers but not too short: in places of worship a strict dress code must be respected, that is the knee-length hem. Avoid jeans and buy the famous backpacker trousers on site, they are perfect for letting air through and defending against mosquitoes. Bring a set of very lightweight shirts and vests, as the weather can be very humid. For the evening a light dress will be enough, long to the feet and completely made from linen. The last item, but by no means least. is the costume.
When it comes to accessories, make a note of these: a pair of comfortable tennis shoes, a straw hat and one for the rain in nylon, a pair of sunglasses and a small backpack.
